Brett has been a professional educator at the Owen J. Roberts School District in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, since 1993.

As a SCUBA professional, Brett has certified over 500 new divers, including middle and high school students, through his innovative intervention diving program and high school Navy ROTC.

Brett developed an interest in scuba diving at a young age, watching divers retrieve fishing lures from a nearby river inlet; he completed his initial SCUBA certification in 1989 while a student at Kutztown University and began diving in local quarries and off the coast of New Jersey. Brett achieved the Divemaster professional rating in 1995. With an interest in spearfishing and lobstering, Brett worked on local dive boats in New Jersey.

Brett completed his instructor certification in 2004, and he maintains numerous agency SCUBA Instructor certifications. He has instructed, certified and mentored students, from open-water divers through to professional instructors. In addition to his multiple Instructor-level certifications for SCUBA, Brett is an American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor.

Since 2007, Brett has testified as an expert witness for scuba and aquatic incidents and has conducted investigations for Robson Forensic of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Brett continues to share his diving passion and expertise with students at all levels.
